This is the portrait I did for one of the two winners of Okian’s competition . The prize is a 8×11 inch portrait made on request.

One of the most interesting portraits I ever did. This time I tried to combine the graphite with some colour. And because I didn’t like any type of colour pencil, I decided to use the dry brush technique :D Never used this technique, so I was a little worry that I might destroy the portrait. But guess what? The winner loooved it, and I think too that is an interesting effect, which for sure I’ll use it in further portraits.

I made this little drawing for the contest we had on Pencil Portraits. I have to admit that even if I choose the photo reference, while drawing it I realised that it wasn’t so easy to do. You can go on the contest page and see the other portraits made after this photo by the members. I didn’t participated, but just tried to give some advices. It wasn’t quite a contest, in the real meaning, because the goal was to achieve more knowledge about how to make a portrait, rather than compete.

See here a video made while drawing this portrait :)

UPDATE: the Pencil Portraits ning website does not exist anymore.

Why did u have to destroy me, to see the angel inside of me?
People destroy our integrity many times.. from a selfish reason.. but after a while they realize that we were innocent.. but that might be too late…
