This is the second portrait I did as a prize for Okian’s competition. The first one was Nasti. I added again some blue dry brush oil. Not such a big effect this time, but I think that dry oil technique suites the best with the pencils on this Starthmore Smooth paper.

My first full color portrait :) Last time I tried the dry brush technique, so I thought why not doing a full portrait with this technique? After applying a few colored layers with oils, I added the details with the pencils. Usually the hair is my best part, but this time seams like it didn’t turned out as I thought.

The colors have been also a challenge for me. But this is the beautiful part of art, discovering new and new ways to express yourself. So, I believe that with this portrait I reached a milestone, and from now on I will not be so afraid of colours :) (don’t take it literally).

This is the portrait I did for one of the two winners of Okian’s competition . The prize is a 8×11 inch portrait made on request.

One of the most interesting portraits I ever did. This time I tried to combine the graphite with some colour. And because I didn’t like any type of colour pencil, I decided to use the dry brush technique :D Never used this technique, so I was a little worry that I might destroy the portrait. But guess what? The winner loooved it, and I think too that is an interesting effect, which for sure I’ll use it in further portraits.

This was one of those portraits I wished I never finish :) I know it took me forever to complete it, but it was such a joy and pleasure to do it.

Barbara Swinton is one of the winners from my Christmas competition. She wanted the portrait to be for Noah, her grandson. I just reread her Christmas wish, so here I want to share it again with you:

Unfortunately, problems kept me away from completing this portrait earlier, but here it is done, and yes, I have to admit, well done :D

New commission done :) A real transformation of the original photo into a Victorian princess. It was an interesting experience and I enjoyed drawing it :)

I made this portrait in January, but I waited for her permission to post it :) So, here it is, an antique custom portrait, made from several references and imagination. She was so thrilled to see the final drawing. She also confessed me that now the portrait is in her room on the wall, and each time she came from work and see it she start to smile and feel happier. That means that I am happy too ;)

New commission done! This young couple is going to get married, so they wanted to have a special wedding invitation. They are going to use this portrait on the invitations. For sure it will be something special and distinguishable :)

This is a commission I made.. but the owner “forgot” about it :-s She doesn’t answer me anymore to the emails.. even if she said she likes it. It’s not nice at all.. I had to cancel my New Year’s evening plans so I can complete it :( I like to trust people and to think that no one have bad intentions in this world (I know, I know, I’m too naive). But from now on I will ask for a deposit before starting a portrait, especially if it is a fantasy one, like this one.

It is a composition made from several photo references.. It took me quite a lot of time.

Another small portrait made during the Christmas (: That doesn’t mean that I worked on Christmas :D does it? I mean, I love drawing, and besides that, I had enough time to spend with my family and take some visits.
This little portrait was delivered in Kuwait.. Yep, a new country in my delivery list. Seams like I just found a new way of traveling ;) All my portraits are part of me, and when I give them away it’s like I go too in that place. So, now I should wish for another place to visit :D

I made these 2 pencil portraits for Laura, one of the Christmas offer winners. She won a portrait, but for an extra fee, I drew her another one. I had a lot of fun drawing these two little kids, even if I made them during Christmas. The girl’s face lineament is so interesting, and her hair so smooth. And the little boy, what can I say, very playfulness (:
