I found this and was truly amazed. The rendition of the hair made me realise that the problem with my portraits is that I lack patience and an understanding of how to let the pencil help me. You have really inspired me. Thank you.

You’ve really helped me, I hope you know that! As a 21 year old, I feel I should be much further along in my art then I am. Though I’ve had no one to teach me, and everything I know is self-learned. This is the first time I’ve gone searching for a tutorial and I find yours! It’s absolutely amazing, and taught me alot. One day, I aspire to be as good as you. My grandfather was an artist, and his last words to me were “Make me proud,” And I think, I can do that now. (: Thank you!

    Thank you Elisabeth!
I’m glad you find this tutorial so useful :) And I really hope too, as your grandpa said, that you will make him proud, and become a good artist, more than I am ;)
